Lucknow, 29 April (HS). Dr. CM Singh, Director of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, inaugurated a 22-header microscope in the Pathology Department on Monday. The facility of 22-header microscope has been established for the first time not only in Uttar Pradesh but in the whole of India. Its cost is approximately Rs 50 lakh.
In a 22-header microscope, 22 people can perform microscopic evaluation simultaneously. Apart from this, it is also connected to many screens and it also has the facility of recording teaching through online tele conferencing.
This facility will be used by the faculty members in the Department of Pathology to conduct regular workshops and live microscopy sessions for the teaching of postgraduate students.
The Pathology Department of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences is one of the highest level pathology departments not only in the state but also in the country, in which world class tests are being conducted. This department is the only state referral center in the entire state in which patients from remote areas of the entire state can submit their samples for testing.
All types of cancer and blood cancer tests are available in this department, the main ones being IHC, PCR, sequencing and flowcytometry. This pathology department is the only center in the government sector hospitals of the state, through which all types of testing facilities are being provided to the patients at high quality and low cost.
On this occasion, Dean of the Institute, Prof. Pradyuman Singh, Executive Registrar, Prof. Jyotsna Aggarwal, Chief Medical Superintendent, Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Finance Controller of the Institute, Ragini Singh and Prof. Nuzhat Hussain, Head of the Department, faculty members, students and staff etc. were present.
