Lockdown: The Government of Pakistan does not trust its local police and rangers regarding the security of the SCO summit to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan. In view of security, Pakistani army has been deployed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. On the instructions of the Army, orders have been given to keep wedding halls, cafes, restaurants and snooker clubs closed in these areas from 12 to 16 October.

The SCO summit will be held in Islamabad on October 16 and 17 under the chairmanship of Pakistan, which will be attended by various heads of state, including the Indian External Affairs Minister and Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang. Due to the terrorist incidents in Pakistan in the last one month and the demonstrations by former Prime Minister Imran Khan's party, the central government has no confidence in the local police and other forces. Therefore, 10,000 Pakistani Army soldiers and commandos have been deployed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

All businesses will remain closed from 12 to 16 October

Local police and other forces have now been asked to receive instructions directly from military authorities. On the orders of the Army, local police have issued instructions to keep marriage halls, cafes, restaurants and snooker clubs in Islamabad and Rawalpindi closed from October 12 to 16. Police have issued notices to traders, hotel and restaurant owners of these areas, warning them that if anyone violates the order, legal action will be taken against them.

14 and 16 October declared public holidays

Police have requested businessmen and hotel owners to pay bail bonds. In these bonds, the hotel owners will guarantee that no outsider is staying in their hotel. Apart from this, public holiday has been declared in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from 14 to 16 October. On the other hand, former Prime Minister Imran Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf party has decided to hold protests at various places in the next four days, raising the possibility of a direct confrontation between the party and the army.

The SCO summit includes India, China, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. It is an important economic and security bloc in Asia, which has become one of the largest inter-regional international organizations. Foreign ministers or heads of state of all these countries are likely to attend the conference, due to which Pakistan is very worried. This is the reason why he has handed over the responsibility of security of these two cities to the army.
