Nalanda News: On Thursday (18 July), 14 children fell ill after eating mid-day meal (MDM) at an Anganwadi centre in Dekpura of Rahui police station area of Nalanda. A lizard had fallen into the food. There was a stir in the village due to such a large number of children falling ill suddenly. The villagers themselves admitted all the children to the primary health centre of Ruri for treatment.
The angry people took the cook hostage
It is said that food was served after class at Anganwadi Centre Dekpura. As soon as the children started eating, a dead lizard appeared in the plate of one of the children. After this, the children informed their family members about this. After this, the angry family members reached the Anganwadi Centre. The cook and other people present there were taken hostage.
The police team pacified the matter
The incident was immediately reported to the police. After this, the police team of 112 number reached the spot and pacified the matter. Actually, after eating the food thrown by the lizards, the children complained of stomach ache and vomiting. All the children are currently admitted in Community Health Center Rahui. However, all these children are out of danger.
In this case, the doctor posted at the primary health center said that all the children have been treated. At present, they have been kept in the hospital so that they can be taken care of. These people's health deteriorated after eating food containing lizard. The children say that the cook did not notice it and gave the food to the children.
On receiving the information, the BDO arrived to investigate
Meanwhile, in-charge of Sadar police station Kunal Kumar said that as soon as the information about the case was received, many officials including the Block Development Officer (BDO) arrived for investigation. During the investigation, it was found that after cooking the food, the lizard somehow fell into the food. At present, the children are undergoing treatment.
