Lucknow, March 11 (HS). Uttar Pradesh's Livestock and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh has expressed his displeasure over the slow pace of the artificial insemination program and has given strict instructions to accelerate the breed improvement schemes.
He has said that this is an ambitious project aimed at improving indigenous breeds in the state, increasing milk production and increasing the income of farmers and livestock farmers. There should be no carelessness and indifference in this work and the goals of artificial insemination should be accomplished quickly.
The Livestock Minister gave necessary guidelines while holding a review meeting in his office at Vidhan Bhavan on Monday regarding destitute cattle, breed improvement, year tagging and the schemes proposed in the coming financial year.
Shri Singh said that the work of protection of destitute cattle should be done continuously on priority basis and adequate arrangements of fodder, straw, drinking water and medicines etc. should be ensured at cow shelters.
Shri Singh directed that the work of ear tagging should also be conducted in a planned manner and adequate availability of medicines and vaccines should be ensured for the treatment of infectious diseases and animals. He said that the upcoming targets should be accomplished by making an action plan within the time period of 03 months, 06 months and 09 months. Cow shelters, veterinary hospitals and other construction works under construction should be completed in a quality manner within the stipulated period and disposal of files should be ensured in a timely manner.
In the meeting, Special Secretary Livestock Devendra Pandey, Special Secretary Milk Ram Sahay Yadav, Managing Director of PCDF Anand Kumar, Director, Administration and Development of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Raghunath Singh, Director Disease Control and Sector Dr. PN Singh, Executive Officer of LDB Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Additional Director Godhan Dr. JK Pandey and Additional Director Dr. A.K. Senior officials of the government including Verma were present.
