Sukhwinder Singh's musical journey gave his first performance on stage at the age of 8. At the age of 13, Sukhwinder demonstrated his extraordinary talent by writing his first song “Tutak Tutak Tutiyan” for Punjabi singer Malkit Singh. Popular Bollywood playback singer gained international recognition especially for the Academy and Grammy Award winning song “Jai Ho” for “Slumdog Millionaire”. Sukhwinder Singh's illustrious career also earned him the Filmfare Best Playback Singer Award for songs like “Chhaiyan Chhaiyan” and “Hole-Hole”.
With an illustrious career, Sukhwinder Singh has lent his mesmerizing voice to many multilingual blockbuster films and enthralled the audience with unforgettable performances. His remarkable contribution to the Indian film industry earned him widespread praise.
Starting with the release of the Punjabi album “Munda Southall Da” in collaboration with T Singh, Sukhwinder started on the path that led him to join the Laxmikant-Pyarelal group. His talent as a musical arranger soon became apparent, prompting him to seek opportunities. In South India, he lent his voice for the Tamil film Ratchagan.
However, his career got a new turn with the song 'Aaja Sanam' from the film 'Khilaf'. Although initially unnoticed, Sukhwinder played A.R. in the film “Dil Se…” Did. Rahman rose to fame with his unforgettable rendition of “Chaiyya Chaiyyaan”, which won him a Filmfare Award. This popular song picturized on Shahrukh Khan became a sensation and strengthened Sukhwinder's position in the industry. Notably, he has provided playback for seven of Khan's songs, further strengthening his association with the superstar.
Apart from his illustrious playback singing career, Sukhwinder showcased his versatility by participating in the seventh season of “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” in June 2014.
