Live demonstration of EVM machine in Basohli and Billawar

Kathua 15 February (HS). Live demonstrations of electronic voting machines were conducted in Basohli and Billawar as part of a systematic voter education and electoral participation campaign aimed at increasing awareness about civic responsibility and democratic processes among the public.

The concerned Electoral Registration Officer under the supervision of District Election Officer Kathua introduced the attendees to the working of the EVM machine by providing a step-by-step practical demonstration of all the three components, Control Unit, Ballot Unit and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail Went. The demonstration was conducted under the supervision of a dedicated team of the election cell, who explained the importance of each component and demonstrated its use in the electoral process. The participants were given practical experience to understand the processes involved in casting vote using EVMs and verifying their choice through the VVPAT system. Commenting on the initiative, DEO Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas said that with this live demonstration our aim was to empower citizens by giving them information about the voting process and encourage their active participation in the democratic processes. The program also provides an opportunity to resolve any doubts or queries regarding the electoral process and voting machines, ensuring that participants leave with a clear understanding of their role in shaping the future of the country through their votes.
