Liquor shops closed: The Lok Sabha elections are now in their final phase. Five phases of voting have been completed. The sixth phase of voting will be held on May 25 and the seventh phase on June 1. The election results will be declared on June 4. The election campaign for the sixth phase of voting will end today. Voting will also take place in Delhi and Haryana in the sixth phase.
Before the sixth phase of polling, all liquor shops and other licensed shops in Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram will remain closed from 6 pm on May 23 to 6 pm on May 25. All liquor shops in these cities will remain closed on June 4, the day of the Lok Sabha election results.
According to a notification issued by the Excise Department, various liquor shops and other licensed premises in Delhi will remain closed from 6 pm on May 23 to 6 pm on May 25, about 48 hours before the end of polling. Apart from this, liquor will not be sold on the day of election results i.e. June 4.
Voting will also take place in Haryana's Gurugram on May 25. In a directive issued by the Gurugram district administration, it was said that all the liquor shops in the city have been ordered to remain closed for 48 hours before the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
The sale of liquor will also remain closed on June 4, the day scheduled for the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections. As per reports, the Gurugram district administration has seized illicit liquor worth Rs 61 lakh amid the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
In the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, polling will be held on 58 seats in six states and two union territories. In this phase, polling will be held on all 10 seats of Haryana as well as all seven seats of Delhi.
Voting will begin at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be declared after counting of votes on June 4. 889 candidates are in the fray in the sixth phase.
