Bihar poisonous liquor tragedy: So far 37 people have lost their lives in riots caused by poisonous liquor in some areas of Bihar. Many others are undergoing treatment in the hospital. The death toll is continuously increasing. In such a situation, political parties are making allegations. Senior JDU leader Gopal Mandal has held the police responsible for this massacre.
Gopal Mandal has said that the poor die by drinking poisonous liquor, poor people drink Mahudo, here expired pills and sulfas are mixed in jaggery liquor. The one who cannot bear it dies.

To improve this situation, a committee should be formed and the culprits should be caught and imprisoned. The police is on alert but due to the collusion of the police with the liquor smugglers, the morale of the liquor sellers has increased. The situation will calm down if the district officials take strict action.

As per the instructions of SP Awadhesh Dixit, liquor distilleries have been identified and destroyed with the help of drone cameras in the area. The police have also destroyed a huge quantity of liquor. Besides, the equipment used in making liquor, gas stove, drum and galley were also destroyed. Police have so far raided more than 140 places. More than 5000 liters of country liquor has been destroyed. Many people have been arrested and interrogated.
37 people died
So far 37 people have lost their lives due to clashes in Siwan, Chhapra and Gopalganj districts of Bihar. Police along with the team of Excise Department conducted raids in Baikunthpur, Manjha and Diyar area of Barauli police station. In which a large quantity of country liquor was found. The highest number of deaths due to drinking poisonous liquor occurred in Siwan district with 28 deaths, followed by 7 deaths in Chhapra district and 2 deaths in Gopalganj.
