Lionel Messi | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

New Delhi, June 13 (HS). Argentina's legendary forward Lionel Messi said that Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami could possibly be the last club of his illustrious career.

Messi, a record eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, is nearing the end of his illustrious career. But before he retires, he will have the chance to win one more Copa America title with Argentina. As he continues to excel at international and club level, Messi has spoken about his future and admitted he is not ready to quit football.

Speaking to ESPN Argentina, Messi said, “I am not ready to leave football, I have done this all my life, I enjoy training and playing games. There is always this fear that everything will end. I think Inter Miami will be my last club.”

Messi has played 180 matches for Argentina and scored 106 goals in the international circuit. He is the third-highest goalscorer at the international level, behind only Ali Daei and Cristiano Ronaldo in the scoring charts.

He has 13 goals and 11 assists in 18 games for Inter Miami in MLS. Earlier this year, he won the Best FIFA Men's Player 2023 award for the third time in his illustrious career, beating Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

He is the first player to win the award while playing in MLS. The top three players, Messi, Mbappe and Haaland, did not attend the ceremony in London. The 36-year-old remained in Miami for his first preseason game of the 2024 campaign.
