Home Ministry to launch ‘Bharatpol’: Now the police of the states will also get a powerful weapon like Interpol against the criminals who commit crimes in India and flee abroad or run crime syndicates in India. Actually, Home Ministry is going to launch ‘Bharatpol’ in India. Which will pave the way for sharing information about criminals and taking immediate action against them, just like Interpol. It will be launched by Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on January 7. Let us know how this system will work? What is the need for it and what will be the benefit?

What is ‘Bharatpol’?

The objective of ‘Bharatpol’ is not only to catch criminals but also to take timely action against them and root out crimes. It is an advanced online portal. Which has been prepared by CBI. His trial is over. Now only its formal launch is left.

What is Interpol?

Interpol i.e. International Criminal Police Organization is the largest international police organization in the world. It is an organization that coordinates internationally between the police of all countries. It is a consortium of investigative agencies from 195 countries. Through which international notices are issued to exchange information about criminals and arrest them. CBI from India. Is associated with this organization. This institute is functioning since 1923. INTERPOL is headquartered in Lyon, France.

How does Interpol work?

Suppose a person commits a crime in India. And after committing the crime he has fled to Switzerland. In such a situation, the Indian police suit is of no use in Switzerland to catch the criminal. Due to which Interpol will work to catch this criminal. India will give information about that accused to Interpol. After this Interpol will issue a notice in his name. Interpol issues many types of notices. But there are two main ones. A yellow notice, which is issued for missing persons. Another red notice which is issued for wanted criminals and accused.

Why was there a need for ‘Bharatpol’?

Police and investigative agencies of states in India often resort to Interpol to obtain information or to arrest criminals hiding abroad. In the current process, the state government has to first contact the CBI. After this the CBI contacts Interpol and demands to issue the necessary notice. This entire process is not only complicated but also time consuming. ‘Bharatpol’ is being started to solve this problem. With its help, the process of issuing red notices, diffusion notices and other necessary Interpol notices against criminals will become quick and easy. Currently, states have to again email or fax their requests to the CBI if they want to track their requests. But now the police can track their requests directly on ‘Bharatpol’.

So will ‘Bharatpol’ issue notice now?

No, the notice will be issued by Interpol only. When information is required about a criminal or his location, the police can send a request directly to Interpol through ‘Bharatpol’. If Interpol accepts that request. Then a red notice, diffusion notice or other type of notice will be issued against the concerned culprit. ‘Bharatpol’ aims to expedite transactions with Interpol.
