Special langar service will be organized in the Maha Kumbh Mela from Makar Sankranti to Maha Shivratri. The service will be operated by the Vidarbha province of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), which will provide food to devotees and saints. Vishwa Hindu Parishad will arrange accommodation for the saints and this langar service will be conducted there.
Anchor service time?
The main objective of this service is to provide food to the devotees coming to Mahakumbh without asking and to help them in their religious duties. The special thing is that Mahakumbh Mela will run from 13 January to 27 February. During this period, this langar service will continue daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. This service will be managed by Vishwa Hindu Parishad Seva Department, Dharmacharya Contact Department and Temple Archak Purohit Parman Vidarbha Province.
Arrangements for 15,000 devotees
Around 15,000 devotees will avail this service every day. The saints and sages coming to the Kumbh Mela will be made to sit with special respect and will be served food. This service is important for the lakhs of devotees who come from far and wide to participate in this Mahakumbh every year.
Ayodhya like service will be provided
It is noteworthy that earlier in 2023, Vidarbha province of Vishwa Hindu Parishad had organized a month-long langar service during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, in which food was served to about 20 lakh devotees. There is a plan to run a similar service in Prayagraj also.
Appeal to donate food items
Mahakumbh Mela is an important and sacred event of Hindu religion. Which is organized once every 12 years. Crores of devotees come to this fair to benefit from their virtues. This time around 35 crore devotees are expected to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela. Vishwa Hindu Parishad has called upon the devotees to donate grains and other food items on this auspicious occasion during the Maha Kumbh celebrations.
