Light to moderate rain likely in Bengal on Rakshabandhan day | News India

Kolkata, August 19 (HS). There is no relief from rain in the entire state including the capital of West Bengal, Kolkata, even on the day of Rakshabandhan. The Meteorological Department has said on Monday that the sky will generally remain cloudy during the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershowers in the city. Heavy rain of 2-3 cm per hour is expected at some places. During this time, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 26 degrees Celsius.

According to the data from 6:30 am on Sunday to 6:30 am on Monday, 59.5 mm of rain was recorded in Kolkata. During this period, the maximum temperature was 31.0 degrees Celsius, which was 0.9 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was 26.5 degrees Celsius, which was 0.1 degrees above normal. During this period, the maximum humidity was recorded at 97 percent and the minimum humidity was 78 percent.

Heavy rain is also expected in other districts of West Bengal. The weather conditions are likely to remain similar in other districts of Bengal. Southern and central districts, especially Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and Burdwan districts are also expected to receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain at some places.

Continuous rain will continue in Alipurdurwar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong of North Bengal.
