Life imprisonment to the accused in Love Jihad case | News India

Bareilly, 30 September (Hindustan Reporter). In a case of Love Jihad, Additional Sessions Judge Fast Track Court I Ravi Kumar Diwakar on Monday sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. Along with life imprisonment, a financial penalty of Rs 1 lakh has also been imposed. This historic decision has come under Operation Conviction being run by the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh. The father of the accused has also been sentenced in this case.

The court has sentenced life imprisonment to Mohammad Aalim, son of Mohammad Sabir alias Rafiq Ahmed, resident of Bhairpura Jadaupur, police station Bhojipura. The court has sentenced Mohammad Alim's father Sabir alias Rafiq Ahmed to two years of imprisonment. In this case, a case was registered in Devraniya police station under sections 376(2)(n), 323,504,506 of IPC.

Actually, the victim used to go to Rajendra Nagar, Bareilly to teach computer coaching, there the accused youth Mohammad Alim used to come to teach computer coaching, he befriended the victim by telling his name as Anand. From where she met and then the fundamentalist Mohammad Aalim made her a victim of love jihad. The accused youth took her to the temple, where he fulfilled her demand and promised to marry her. Then he took her to his friend's room and made her a victim of lust. Not only this, the accused threatened her by making obscene videos of her and then made her a victim of lust several times.

When the victim somehow reached the house of the accused, she came to know that the person whom she thought was Anand turned out to be fundamentalist Mohammad Aalim. Mohammad Alim's family members beat up the victim and pressurized her to convert. When the victim became pregnant, she was forcibly aborted. The court has given its verdict in this case within six months.

Additional Sessions Judge Fast Track Court I Ravi Kumar Diwakar has said in his order that a copy of the order should be sent to the Senior Superintendent of Police Bareilly so that he can alert the police of all the police stations of the district. Wherever any case of illegal religious conversion through Love Jihad or any other illegal religious conversion is found, make sure to take action under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act, 2021 in addition to other relevant provisions. So that action can be taken as per the intention of the legislature of Uttar Pradesh in passing the above Act. A copy of this decision should also be sent to the Director General of Police, Police Headquarters Lucknow, Chief Secretary Uttar Pradesh Lucknow. Compliance under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act, 2021 should be strictly followed in Uttar Pradesh.
