Firozabad, 18 October (HIST). The court on Friday sentenced the accused under POCSO and SC/ST Act to life imprisonment. A fine has been imposed on him. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to face additional punishment.
A 17-year-old Dalit girl resident of Fariha police station area was lured away by Raees Khan, son of Riyazuddin, resident of Kamalpur on June 2, 2023. He is class 10 passed. The girl's father filed a case against Raees Khan in the police station on June 3, 2023. After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against him in the court under several sections. The case proceeded in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Special Court POCSO Court No. 3 Rajeev Singh.
Special Public Prosecutor Kamal Singh, who is prosecuting the case on behalf of the prosecution, said that eight people testified during the trial. Many evidences were presented before the court. On the basis of testimony and evidence of witnesses, the court found Raees Khan guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The court has imposed a fine of Rs 64 thousand on him. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of 2 years.
