Life imprisonment and fine for the accused of killing an old man in a land dispute | News India


Dumka, 10 September (HS). The court convicted the accused in the murder case of a 55-year-old man in a land dispute and sentenced him and fined him. The court on Tuesday sentenced Mithu Sah and Praduman Sah, who killed an old man named Naresh Sah by hitting him with a spear and an axe on 14 October 20 in Pandeykesho village of Saraiyahat block of the district.

The court of fourth additional district and sessions judge Dinesh Kumar Singh convicted him and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. If the accused does not pay the fine, he will have to serve one more year of imprisonment. A total of 09 witnesses testified in the case. In this case, Assistant Public Prosecutor Bhavendra Soren argued on behalf of the government and Soma Gupta argued on behalf of the defence.

Jitendra Shah, son of the deceased, said in the FIR that his father Naresh Shah was having a land dispute with Kuldeep Shah of the village. On the afternoon of the incident, the father was sitting at the door of the house. Then the accused came home with his friends and started abusing him. When the father stopped him from abusing, they started quarreling. Before the father could understand anything, Mithu Shah stabbed him in the chest with a spear. After the father fell on the ground, he was hit with an axe and severely injured. After preliminary treatment at the Community Health Center, the father was referred to Deoghar for better treatment, where he died during treatment on the second day.
