Srinagar, 23 October (HIST). Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a review meeting on the security situation of Kashmir division at Raj Bhavan today. The Lieutenant Governor asked the Jammu and Kashmir Police authorities to ensure strict measures to strengthen the security grid around major infrastructure projects and construction camps for the safety of workers. He stressed on setting up mechanisms for regular coordination meetings with project implementing agencies. The Lieutenant Governor directed the police to conduct security audit of infrastructure projects, round-the-clock checkpoints at strategic points, night patrolling and area control.
He said the police should ensure strong security and intelligence grid and conduct intensive, well-planned joint operations with the army and other security agencies to eliminate terrorism. The Lieutenant Governor said that there is a need to completely dismantle the entire terrorist eco-system including criminals and those providing support to terrorists. Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor Dr. Mandeep Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri and other senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police attended the meeting.
