Arvind Kejriwal: The troubles of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have increased. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has given permission to ED to prosecute Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam. The ED had arrested then Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as the mastermind in the case on March 21 and filed a charge sheet against him, the party and others in May.

Enforcement Directorate allowed to take action

A statement issued by the Lieutenant Governor’s office said that Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has given permission to the Enforcement Directorate to take action against Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case. On December 5, the Enforcement Directorate had sought permission to prosecute Arvind Kejriwal.

Approval was sought earlier this month

Earlier this month, ED had sought permission to prosecute Kejriwal. The central agency has alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the liquor policy. The ED filed a complaint in the Rouse Avenue court on May 17 alleging that Kejriwal took a bribe of Rs 100 crore in connivance with members of ‘South Group’.

AAP rejected the allegations

Aam Aadmi Party has completely rejected the allegations of ED. The party says that the investigation into the alleged liquor scam has been going on for the last two years, in which 500 people have been harassed. Apart from this, 50,000 pages of documents have been prepared and more than 250 raids have been conducted, but not a single penny has been recovered in these proceedings. AAP also said that this case has exposed many flaws. The party believes that the real objective of BJP is to harass AAP and Arvind Kejriwal.
