Let villages remain villages, do not transform them into urban environments: Governor

Bhagalpur, June 13 (HS). A two-day international seminar was organized on Thursday at Bihar Agricultural University Sabour in Bhagalpur. The main objective of the international seminar was related to the empowerment of agriculture and rural economy and discussion on the journey of rural development from independence to Amritkaal. This two-day international seminar was formally inaugurated by Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that let the village remain a village and do not try to make it a city. Provide all the basic facilities in the village but special attention needs to be paid to ensure that an urban environment is not created and the government is working on making the farmers economically strong. The plan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be implemented soon.

Bihar's Agriculture and Health Minister Mangal Pandey joined the two-day seminar as a special guest through virtual medium. Dr. D.R. Singh, Vice Chancellor of BAU Sabour, was the chairman of the inaugural function. It is being organized under the joint aegis of Bihar Agricultural University Sabour and Excellent Vision Foundation. Its coordinator was Dr. Ajay Kumar Sah, Dean (Agriculture), BAU Sabour. Social worker Ramashish Singh was present as the keynote speaker. Scientists, teachers, researchers, students, progressive farmers and entrepreneurs from America, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India were present in this seminar. Their total number was more than 500. Participants from a total of 10 states and 06 agricultural universities of India were present.

In this seminar, Vice Chancellors of 05 universities and Director of NIT, Durgapur were also present. In the international seminar, the development journey from independence to Amritkaal was discussed and ways to improve agriculture and rural economy were discussed.

Through the international seminar, the attention of the scientists from India and abroad was also drawn towards the technologies developed by the university, which will help in getting international recognition for BAU in the future.
