Saharsa, March 08 (HS). A lecture was organized by IGNOU Regional Center on the occasion of International Women's Day on Friday, the theme of which was “Role of women in self-reliant India”. The chief guest and lecturer of the program was Dr. Renu Singh, former Principal, Ramesh Jha Mahila Mahavidyalaya. All the officers, employees and about 10 students of IGNOU Regional Center were present in the said program.
The program was inaugurated by Regional Director Dr. Mirza Nehal Ahmed Baig by presenting a bouquet to the chief guest and welcoming all the audience. He told that on this occasion there is talk of giving equal rights to women but the truth is that without women we have no existence. If it were not there we would not be in this world. Therefore, their rights are even higher than those of men. Ms. Soumya, a post-graduation student from IGNOU present in the programme, told by the teacher that she is achieving success today by taking inspiration from the chief guest of the programme. Today in our society, if a man gets educated then only one person gets educated but if a woman gets educated then the whole family gets educated.
Ms. Salma Parveen, another postgraduate student present in the program, told that despite being in a backward area, our parents encouraged us to do postgraduate and B.Ed and today I am working as a teacher.
Chief guest of the program, Dr. Renu Singh told that since ancient times, there was a trend in India that no work can be completed without taking a woman along, there are many examples of this. With time, some such circumstances came due to which the condition of women had worsened but now the condition of women has become much better. In the lecture on the above topic, he told that while explaining in detail about India's first female engineer Sudha Murthy and her cooperation in the establishment of Infosys, he said that we only need self-confidence. No work is impossible. If we move forward with confidence, we can play a big role in making the country self-reliant by making every impossible possible. At the end of the program, the program was closed with a vote of thanks by Dr. Deepak Goswami, Assistant Regional Director.
