Lucknow, 31 August (HS). Efforts are on for the last ten years to remove the jam and encroachment on the road from IT Chauraha to Daliganj Pul in Lucknow. Even after several meetings of Municipal Corporation and LDA with the officials of the district administration, no concrete steps have been taken. At present, LDA is now keeping an eye on this road and it is being claimed that encroachment and electric poles will be removed soon.
On moving from IT crossing towards Daliganj, a dozen carts can be seen lined up. Nishad Dosa wala sets up his cart at a distance of four steps from the crossing and in the evening he creates a situation of jam and encroachment by placing tables and chairs on the road. At a short distance from this, many carts of momo, burger and Chinese fast food are set up. The cart vendors also provide the desired amount of money to the employees of the Municipal Corporation.
LDA believes that the motorcycles and big vehicles parked outside the commercial buildings next to IT intersection create a traffic jam. Preparations are being made to remove the vehicles parked outside the commercial buildings. Along with this, there are also preparations to make a stand a little further ahead to stop the autos and e-rickshaws that stop at the intersection. For this, LDA has conducted a survey and will work in this direction very soon.
In the year 2014-15 also, preparations were made to widen the Daliganj bridge from IT intersection, which could not be completed. In the year 2018, cemented barricade system was brought down from the middle of the road. Due to the barricade, the movement of vehicles from two directions started smoothly. In the year 2022, work started on the plan to remove electricity poles on this route, yet no concrete steps have been taken even after two years have passed.
