Boeing layoff news: Aviation giant Boeing plans to cut its workforce by up to 10 percent, leaving around 17,000 employees out of the company. Boeing had announced job cuts in this matter yesterday. The company said the decision was taken after it suffered a huge loss in the third quarter due to a strike in the Seattle area.

Boeing will also stop production of cargo planes

Boeing will also end production of commercial 767 cargo planes in 2027 after completing existing orders, CEO Kelly Ortberg said in a release to employees. He said the company was facing mounting losses and operations at aircraft factories had stopped for five weeks due to a strike by machinists.

The company is facing financial crisis

Chief Executive Kelly Ortberg said that aviation giant Boeing is going through many financial crises these days, to overcome which further changes will have to be made in the staffing level. Globally, 17,000 employees, including executives, managers and employees, will be laid off.
