Ranchi, July 5 (HS). Assembly elections are to be held in Jharkhand this year. BJP has started making strategy for this. Meanwhile, on Friday, BJP has once again appointed Uttar Pradesh's veteran leader Laxmikant Vajpayee as the in-charge of Jharkhand. BJP's National President JP Nadda has appointed state in-charges and co-in-charges in various states including Jharkhand.
Its notification has been issued by the party's national general secretary and headquarters in-charge Arun Singh. Laxmikant Vajpayee was also made the in-charge of Jharkhand BJP in 2022. Before appointing Laxmikant Vajpayee as the Jharkhand in-charge, BJP appointed Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan as the in-charge of Jharkhand assembly elections while Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been appointed as co-in-charge. He is also continuously visiting Jharkhand.
Political journey of Laxmikant Vajpayee
Born on 20 July 1951 in Meerut, Laxmikant Vajpayee was made the president of the youth wing of BJP's Yuva Morcha in 1977. He held the post of general secretary of Meerut district from 1980 to 1987. He held the post of vice president of BJP Yuva Morcha in UP from 1984 to 1986. He has been an MLA from Meerut four times. He has been the state president of UP BJP from 2012 to 2014.
