Bijnor, 06 September (HS) | Hundreds of lawyers took to the streets on Friday at Bijnor headquarters to protest against the brutal murder of a female lawyer in Kasganj. The lawyers blocked the Judge Chowk while raising slogans. A memorandum was submitted to the administration.
In the memorandum, the lawyers demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and strict action against them. Also, to ensure the safety of lawyers in the state, emphasis was laid on implementing the Advocate Protection Act. The lawyers protested under the leadership of Bar Association President Yashpal Singh. Hundreds of lawyers, including General Secretary Vishal Agarwal, Munesh Kumar, Ranjeet Singh, Javed Saeed, Ambika Singh, Ashish Tomar, Ankur Kumar Gaur and Gangaram, participated in the protest. The lawyers demanded from the administration that the accused in the Kasganj murder case should be given death penalty. Concrete steps should be taken for the safety of lawyers.
