Lawyers' strike is harmful for the society: Justice Vikram Nath | News India

Prayagraj, 24 August (HS). Supreme Court Justice Vikram Nath said that the strike of lawyers not only prolongs the judicial process but it is also harmful for the society. He advised the lawyers to avoid strikes on petty issues.

Justice Vikram Nath expressed these sentiments in a seminar organized on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed administrative building of the UP Bar Council. Justice Vikram Nath of the Supreme Court inaugurated the building. Allahabad High Court Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Bar Council of India President Manan Kumar Mishra were present as special guests. UP Bar Council President Shiv Kishore Gaur presided over the seminar on professional ethics and the role of advocates in society.

As the chief guest, Supreme Court Judge Justice Vikram Nath said that advocates should not take shortcuts. Do your judicial work with honesty, only then will you get success. He also suggested the Bar Council to make efforts to provide a safe environment for women. He said that women are no less than anyone now. Their number has increased rapidly in the judicial field. He also shared many experiences of his life.

Bar Council of India President Manan Kumar Mishra asked the District Bar Association not to go on strike. He also said that we have only two demands from the government. One is the Advocate Protection Act and the other is to implement insurance and medical claims for lawyers. He said that the government is going to implement it soon. He further said that a large number of substandard law colleges have opened. Only degrees are being distributed from these colleges. If these colleges are not controlled, the level of judicial profession will fall further.

Senior Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta, Justice VK Birla, Justice Ashwini Kumar Mishra, Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh, Justice Shekhar B Sharaf, Justice JJ Munir, Justice Siddhartha, Justice Neeraj Tiwari, Justice Nalin Kumar Srivastava, Registrar General Rajiv Bharti, District Judge Santosh Rai were present in the program.

State members of Bar Council of India Shrinath Tripathi, Harishankar Singh, Imran Mabud Khan, Amarendra Nath Singh, Ajay Yadav, Devendra Mishra Nagarha, Pradeep Kumar Singh, Ankaj Mishra, Prashant Singh Atal, Akhilesh Kumar Awasthi, Janaki Sharan Pandey, Deepak Chaturvedi, Apoorv Kumar Sharma, Chairman Executive Council BCI, Amit Vaidya, Member BCI, Ramprasad Singhania, Member Bar Council Rajasthan, Kuldeep Singh, Vice President Bar Council Uttarakhand etc were present.
