‘Law is equal for everyone’, Pawan Kalyan justified Allu Arjun’s arrest and said

New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has given an important statement regarding the stampede that took place during the screening of the film ‘Pushpa 2’. He justified the police action taken against actor Allu Arjun and refused to blame the Telangana Police. Pawan Kalyan said that the law is equal for everyone and the police should take action giving priority to public safety.

Janasena Party leader and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan praised Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on the issue and described him as a good leader. He suggested that actor Allu Arjun should have met the family of the woman killed during the stampede earlier.

Stampede broke out during the screening of ‘Pushpa 2’

A 35-year-old woman, Revathi, lost her life and her son was injured in a stampede during the screening of ‘Pushpa 2’ on December 4. After this incident, Hyderabad Police arrested actor Allu Arjun, although he later got bail. After this, Allu Arjun and the producers of the film announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 crore to the victim’s family.

Pawan Kalyan’s statement

Speaking to reporters in Mangalagiri, Pawan Kalyan said that law enforcement agencies should ensure public safety in such incidents. He also said that the theater management should have informed Allu Arjun about the situation earlier. He stressed that if Allu Arjun had contacted the victim’s family first, the tension could have been reduced.

It is noteworthy that Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun are relatives. Allu Arjun’s aunt Surekha is married to Pawan Kalyan’s elder brother and famous actor Chiranjeevi.
