People will have to wait longer for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to go from the capital Delhi to Faridabad. It is difficult to complete the work of this expressway even by March next year.
Flyovers are yet to be constructed over the metro line at four places between DND and Jaitpur, due to which there is a possibility of delay. Officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) also believe the same. However, it is a matter of some relief that it will be started from Jaitpur to Sohna by the end of December.
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is being constructed by DND. Its work on DND is going on at a fast pace. It was planned to be started from DND to Mithapur Chowk by March 2025, but now its construction may take more than six months.
In such a situation, the drivers passing through Mathura Road will not get any relief. At present, due to high traffic pressure, there is severe traffic jam on Mathura Road in the morning and evening. People commuting from Noida and Delhi to Faridabad and Badarpur remain stuck in traffic jams for several hours.
At present, Mathura Road is the main route for drivers going to Faridabad, Palwal, Agra and beyond. More than 1.5 lakh vehicles pass through Mathura Road every day. The vehicles which currently travel from Mathura Road to Faridabad and beyond will be able to reach their destination without getting stuck in the jam after the opening of the expressway. They will be able to board the expressway from DND and Kalindi Kunj.

Apart from this, there will also be facilities for those going to Jamia Nagar, Shaheen Bagh, Sarita Vihar, NFC. According to NHAI officials, the expressway will be started from Mithapur Chowk of Jaitpur to Sohna in the beginning of December this year.
With this, people living in Badarpur, Jaitpur and Harinagar will be able to use the expressway. For the convenience of the people here, cuts will be made on the expressway near Mithapur Chowk, from where drivers will be able to get on and off the expressway.
The expressway in Faridabad was to be inaugurated in September. NHAI officials said that the work has been affected due to heavy rains. At present, load testing is being done on a part of the expressway. It will be started in Faridabad by the end of October.
Service lane will be of six lanes
Under this project, there will be three lanes each for the main carriageway on both sides, while the service lane will have three lanes. Three meter wide footpaths will be built on the service road, while there will be a two and a half meter wide cycle track. Green area will also be created. The statue of Lord Parshuram will be installed at the roundabout located at Mithapur Chowk. The length of this expressway is 1,386 kilometers, of which about 85 percent work has been completed.
