Last year, parties had revenue of Rs 3077 crore, BJP is at the forefront

New Delhi: Counting days are left for the Lok Sabha elections, the figures of funds received by the political parties of the country during the financial year 2022-23 have been announced. According to this figure, the parties have earned an income of Rs 3077 crore in one year. The ruling party at the Center, BJP, has been the leader in receiving funds last year also. BJP has received the maximum amount of Rs 2361 crore. These figures were released by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). According to the report, out of the total donations received by all political parties, BJP has received the maximum amount of 76.73 percent.

Congress has received Rs 452.37 crore in the last financial year. Which is 14.70 percent of the total donations received by all the parties. Apart from BJP and Congress, BSP, AAP, NPP, CPI-M etc. also gave details of income received from donations. This also includes money received through electoral bonds. During the last financial year, BJP got Rs. 1294.14 crores have been received. While Congress got Rs 171.02 crore, AAP got Rs 45.45 crore.

Apart from this, another revelation has also come that all these parties have received more money from bonds worth about Rs 2797.35 crore. Out of which the National Party has received Rs 1510.62 crore. BJP received Rs 1917.12 crore in the financial year 2021-22, whereas in the last financial year 2022-23 this figure was Rs 1917.12 crore. 443.72 crore (23.15 per cent) with an increase of Rs. 2360 crores had been crossed. On the contrary, the income of Congress has decreased by 16.42 percent i.e. Rs 88 crore during this period. Apart from this, the income of Left party CPI (M) has decreased by 12.68 percent (Rs 20 crore), BSP's income has decreased by 33.14 percent (Rs 14.50 crore). This report has been prepared on the basis of data provided to the Election Commission.

The report also said that out of the income of Rs 2,360 crore received last year, BJP has spent only 57 percent i.e. Rs 1,361 crore. So BJP has a lot of money now. Last year, while Congress's income was Rs 452 crore, its expenditure increased by three percent to Rs 467 crore in the same year. CPI(M) also spent 75 percent of its income last year. Similarly, Aam Aadmi Party received Rs 85 crore in the same year while its expenditure was Rs 102 crore. It is noteworthy that in the same month the Supreme Court had canceled the electoral bonds, this report has revealed that political parties have issued electoral bonds worth Rs 2797.35 crore.
