Last rites of Uttarkashi's Jawan Shravan Chauhan were performed with military honors

Uttarkashi, July 20 (HS). The body of martyred soldier Shravan Chauhan, a resident of Saranaul in Uttarkashi district, reached home on Friday evening. The soldier was cremated with military honors on Saturday on the banks of the Gangaani Yamuna river.

Last Thursday, soldier Shravan Chauhan, a resident of Saranaul posted on the Leh-Ladakh border, suddenly fell ill. He was admitted to the military hospital but Shravan Chauhan died during treatment.

The body of Shravan Chauhan wrapped in the tricolour reached his village Saranaul at around 6:45 pm on Friday evening, where the family members hugged the body of soldier Shravan Chauhan. The entire village was drowned in a wave of grief. The last rites of Shravan Chauhan were performed on Saturday at Gangaani Yamuna Ghat in the area, where the contingent of 14th Rajputana Rifles from Uttarkashi gave the last salute to soldier Shravan Chauhan.
