Largest parking built at Meerut South station on RRTS corridor

Meerut, 11 May (HS). For the convenience of passengers on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, the largest parking is being built at Meerut South station in Uttar Pradesh. For the convenience of the passengers at this station, two parking lots are being built at both the entrances of the station, the construction of which is almost complete. Facility to travel in Namo Bharat trains will soon be available at Meerut South station.

Two parking lots are being built at this station in an area of ​​approximately 13000 square meters. There will be arrangements for parking about 1200 four-wheelers and two-wheelers in both these parking lots. Facility to park auto rickshaws will also be available in both these parking lots. Special provision has been made at this station for pickup and dropoff facility at the station for vehicles coming from both Meerut and Delhi. The station has been designed in such a way that vehicles coming from the main road can easily pick up and drop passengers at the station.

Along with this, keeping in mind the movement of disabled passengers, a separate place has been earmarked for parking their vehicles and ramps have also been made for easy entry into the station, so that they can avail any facility to travel in Namo Bharat train. Do not have to face any kind of inconvenience. Special EV charging stations will also be built in these parking lots for charging the electric vehicles of the passengers. Passengers will be able to charge their e-vehicles at the station only while traveling in Namo Bharat train. This will make vehicle charging very easy for e-vehicle owners. Here there will be facility to charge both two-wheeler and four-wheeler e-vehicles. At present, NaMo Bharat trains are operating in a 34 km section from Sahibabad to Modi Nagar North on the RRTS corridor. There are a total of eight stations in this section – Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South and Modinagar North and there are parking arrangements at all these stations, but Meerut South station will have the largest parking of the RRTS corridor.

This station is on the border of Meerut, after its operation, the travel of people living in Mohiuddinpur, Bhudbaral, Bahadurpur, Aminagar, Chhajjupur, Kharkhoda and Kadarabad and other nearby areas will become easier. With the commencement of operation of Namo Bharat trains from Meerut South, people will be able to reach Delhi in about 30 minutes. Meerut South station will be the first station in Meerut region on the RRTS corridor. Along with RRTS trains, metro services for Meerut region will also operate at this station. Here, 2 tracks have been made for RRTS trains and in Meerut, one track has been made for operation of local metro service MRTS trains. A total of 3 tracks and 3 platforms are being built at this station. This station will have three levels, ground, mezzanine, concourse and platform. The length of this station is approximately 215 meters, width is approximately 36 meters and height is approximately 22 meters.

It is noteworthy that Meerut Metro is being operated on RRTS infrastructure only. There will be a distance of one to two km between the metro stations in Meerut and the size of the metro stations will also be smaller than the RRTS stations. Meerut will have a total of 13 stations, of which 4 stations Meerut South, Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul and Modipuram Depot will be RRTS stations, where both NaMo Bharat and Meerut Metro train services will be available, while the other stations will be Meerut Metro stations, where only metro services will be available.
