Landslides at many places in Uttarakhand, three people including a woman died | News India

Dehradun, September 14 (HS). The landslides occurring in the disaster-hit state of Uttarakhand are becoming fatal. No one knows when the debris will fall on whom. On Saturday, three people died after being buried under the debris of a landslide. The SDRF has taken out all the bodies from the debris and handed them over to the police. The injured have been sent to the hospital.

On receiving information from Disaster Management Control Room Pithoragarh about a woman being buried under a landslide in Garhkot, the SDRF team reached the spot and carried out rescue operation. After a lot of hard work, the body of the woman Devki Devi (75) wife of Puran Chandra Upadhyay, resident of village Garhkot, buried under the debris, was taken out. On receiving information about a vehicle accident near Lamgara in Almora district, the SDRF team immediately left for the spot. There were a total five people in the vehicle. Out of these, three people were rescued. While two people fell into the ditch.

The SDRF team descended into the ditch and after a lot of hard work took out both the bodies and handed them over to the police. However, they could not be identified. SDRF received information from the Nainital District Control Room that some people were trapped near Jhutia Village Ramgarh due to rising water level of the river. The SDRF team under the leadership of SI Santosh Parihar reached the spot and rescued 19 people of five families trapped there and brought them safely to Sunrise Public School Talla Ramgarh.

SDRF received information from Almora District Control Room that two persons are trapped in the river near Panar. SDRF team under the leadership of Additional Sub Inspector Ravi Rawat reached the spot and rescued both the persons safely and took them to a safe place. The road got blocked due to a tree falling on Gangotri Highway. On information from Uttarkashi District Control Room, SDRF team immediately left for the spot and cleared the traffic by removing the said tree to the side.
