Land transfer scam in Kenagar, case registered against CO and revenue employee

Purnia, May 25 (HS). An FIR has been lodged against the then Circle Officer of Kenagar, Shilpi Kumari and the present revenue employee Pankaj Kumar Bharti for wrongly transferring the land (mutation) to someone else. This action has been taken in a case related to 5 decimal 5 square piece of land located in Kenagar.

According to the information received, despite the case being pending in the court, the CO and the revenue employee had mutated the land. In this regard, Shweta Suman, a resident of Kenagar, had filed a complaint letter with the CJM. On the orders of the CJM, a named FIR has been registered against the then CO Shilpi Kumari and revenue employee Pankaj Bharti in the Kenagar police station.

Kenagar police station in-charge Sub Inspector Navdeep Kumar Gupta said that this case has been registered on the orders of the court and further action has been started. Meanwhile, revenue employee Pankaj Kumar Bharti was contacted on his mobile number- 8210160491 to know his side, but he did not receive the call. He did not even reply to the message sent.

The case is of Rikavganj Nayatola of Kenagar Zone, where Vishal Raj had filed a mutation case number 2773/23-24. Santosh Kumar Yadav's wife Shweta Suman had lodged an objection against this with the Zone Officer. It was stated in the objection that the land on which mutation case number 2773/23-24 has been filed, civil case number 225/23 is currently pending in the court. She alleges that despite her objection, the land was transferred in the name of the opposite party.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate has ordered the Kenagar Police Station in-charge to register an FIR, showing the need for investigation on the case number 950/24 filed in his court. After this, Kenagar Police Station Case Number 174/24 (GR No. 2431/24) has been registered.

Citing the law, plaintiff's counsel Shyam Sundar Pandey said that Section 12 of Chapter 5 of the Bihar Land Mutation Act, 2011 has a strict direction that approving the transfer of name during a civil suit is gross negligence on the land on which the civil suit is going on.

The advocate said that this case is related to a land dispute in Kenagar region. Despite the dispute being pending in the court, the land was transferred by the concerned officials, which was against the law.
