Lakshadweep: India's show of assertiveness at the expense of Indian tourists is now costing Maldives dearly. After PM Modi's call for tourism in Lakshadweep, rapid change was seen here. In response to a question in the capital Kavaratti after PM Modi's visit to Lakshadweep, Lakshadweep Tourism Officer Imtias Mohammad said that local entrepreneurs are being encouraged to allow the youth to earn their livelihood in the tourism sector. They are being appealed to open their restaurants and hotels for tourists visiting Lakshadweep.

Lakshadweep tourism officer Imthias Mohammed said, “Various tourism activities are being organized in the islands. scuba diving and water sports are the main income generating sectors of Lakshadweep tourism. We want to provide opportunities to educated youth to earn their livelihood in the tourism sector.” Tourism promotion Local entrepreneurs are being encouraged to set up their own tourist accommodations and more cruise ship companies are also being actively promoted.

Imtiaz Mohammed said that there are also many ambitious plans to promote yachting tourism in Lakshadweep. Regarding PM Modi's visit, he said, “The Prime Minister is an influential leader of the country, he visited Lakshadweep in December 2023. We are very eager to know more about the tour packages offered by Lakshadweep Tourism. We are receiving a large number of inquiries from national and international arena.

He said that NITI Aayog has identified three islands in Lakshadweep for setting up eco-tourism projects. The projects include Beach Villas and Lagoon Villas. According to Aman Singh, a tourist from Delhi, it is easy to go to Lakshadweep. Tourist Aman Singh said, “There were some myths that many tribals live here and it is difficult to get permission. Many myths were broken by reading it myself. We did not face any problem in reaching here. “It’s not as hard as it is to get here.” 6-7 months ago it seemed that this is the effect of PM Modi's visit because this island is so beautiful that more people want to come here so there should be more flights.
