Chittorgarh, 9 August (HS). The Kotwali police has solved the case of theft of more than 5 lakh rupees in cash and 8 to 10 tolas of gold and silver jewellery from the vacant house of tent businessman Suresh Kabra from Nimbahera of the district. One accused has been arrested in the case and the cash and jewellery have been recovered. The arrested accused turned out to be the trusted contractor of the tent businessman, who cunningly committed the theft by short-circuiting the CCTV cameras of the house and wearing gloves on his hands.

Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi said that Sureshchandra Kabra, a resident of Kamdaj Nagar of Nimbahera, went on a trip with his family on July 10 and returned on August 5. The locks of the cupboards in the rooms were broken. Unknown persons stole more than five lakh rupees in cash and 8 to 10 tola gold jewellery. A case was registered and the investigation was handed over to ASI Suraj Kumar. The police interrogated the suspects involved in the tent business of Khagale and Kabra through CCTV footage. In this, the activities of Mojmmal Haque, son of Mainat Ali, resident of Ramnath Para police station Hematabad district North Dinajpur, West Bengal, currently Kamdaj Nagar Nimbahera, were found suspicious. The police interrogated him intensively using psychological methods, in which Mojmmal confessed to stealing Sureshchandra Kabra's jewellery.

On this, all the stolen goods have been recovered on the information of the accused. Police investigation revealed that after the applicant and his family went abroad, all the cameras were switched off by making a short circuit outside the house. On the night of 27th July, he entered the house using a ladder from the roof. He wore gloves on his hands so that no evidence remains. To avoid suspicion on Bengali labourers, the accused tied a rope on the other side of the house and tried to confuse the police and the applicant. The criminal got scared when the FSL team of Chittorgarh and Bhilwara inspected closely and took a chance print. Therefore, he threw some of the stolen goods on the tarpaulin of the tent near the house. Police investigation also revealed that the accused Mojammal has been working as a contractor for tent traders in Nimbahera for the last 18 years.
