Just before the festival of Rakhi, the Maharashtra government has given a wonderful gift to crores of women of the state. To empower women financially, the state government has announced a scheme to deposit Rs 1500 every month in their accounts. Under this scheme, eligible women will continue to get benefits for the next 5 years.
These women will get money every month.
The state government has named this scheme as Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana. Under this scheme, the state government will deposit Rs 1500 every month in the account of beneficiary women. Women of Maharashtra whose age is between 21 years to 65 years and whose annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh can take advantage of this scheme of the state government. That is, this scheme will directly empower those women who are financially weak. The benefits of this scheme will be available for the next 5 years.

About 1.5 crore women are expected to get direct benefit from this scheme of Maharashtra government. According to the Hindustan Times report, till Wednesday, August 14, 1.69 crore applications were received to avail the benefits of this scheme. Out of these, 1.36 crore applications have been found valid after verification. The government has already extended the application date for this scheme till August 31. It is expected that the number of beneficiaries may increase to more than 1.5 crore in the coming days.
Money reaches the accounts of these women
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is officially launching this scheme in Pune on Saturday, but the benefits under the scheme have already started. The state government has already transferred Rs 3,000 each to the accounts of 30 lakh women. The benefits under this scheme are starting from last month i.e. July 2024. Due to this, the amount for two months of July and August is being sent to the accounts of the beneficiaries. The government has started sending money even before the official launch, so that no one has to face any kind of problem at the last moment.
IC Ladli Behan Scheme in Madhya Pradesh The Maharashtra government has come up with this scheme on the lines of the Ladli Behan Yojana started in the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh. The government led by former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in Madhya Pradesh had started the Ladli Behan Yojana, which has received a lot of appreciation. Although the benefits of this scheme are going to be available for 5 years, but the Maharashtra government says that this scheme is not immediate or for some time. Talking to the media on Friday, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured that this scheme benefiting women will never be stopped.
