Mumbai: Kunal Khemu's directorial debut 'Madgaon Express' has left behind Randeep Hooda's 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' at the box office.

Veer Savarkar biopic had a poor start at the box office. After this, his earning in four days is barely Rs 9 crore. Whereas Kunal Khemu's first film under the direction of 'Margao Express' has crossed the figure of Rs 12 crore.

People have praised Randeep Hooda's performance in the role of Veer Savarkar. However, according to the trade body, the prospects are always better for a comedy film than a serious film with political themes. Because such a film gets a family audience. Still, as a film, 'Margao Express' is not weak at all. After the exams are over, the audience is also getting the benefit of the holidays.

Some trade critics defended that a film like a Veer Savarkar biopic is never made with a commercial angle in mind. Its purpose is to convey an idea to the people.
