Champawat, 12 October (Hindustan Reporter). Kumaon Commissioner and Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Rawat conducted on-site inspection of Swala on Tanakpur-Champawat National Highway on Saturday. During this, on-site inspection of road improvement and hill treatment work was done.
On this occasion, the Commissioner took information about the improvement work being done from District Magistrate Navneet Pandey and NH officials and also took information about the work done and permanent solution to stop the land subsidence happening in Swala. He instructed the department to work in a planned manner and find a permanent solution to stop the landslides happening in this place.
The Commissioner said that debris is continuously falling on the road from the hill and due to water seepage in the hill, the hill is continuously becoming loose, for a permanent solution to this, NH officials should take personal responsibility and work towards making the journey safe. .
Praising the District Magistrate, the Commissioner said that the way continuous monitoring is being done by him is the result of the work being done on the road at a fast pace. NH 09 (Swala) should be continuously monitored carefully and safely for traffic.
The District Magistrate gave detailed information to the Commissioner about the permanent treatment works of the hill being done on National Highway 09 Swala. He said that National Highway 09 has been opened for small and big vehicles in Swala as per the scheduled time. Also, continuous work is being done for a permanent solution.
The District Magistrate said that N.H. There are about 28 to 29 such places where repair work is being done in those places where less land subsidence has occurred.
