Kanpur, 20 April (HS). Krishi Vigyan Kendras are continuously increasing the income of farmers by providing vocational training in various developed modules, cropping systems, diversification, animal husbandry and management and pearl farming with FPOs. This was said by Dr. R.K. Yadav, Director of Extension, Chandrashekhar Azad Agriculture and Technological University, Kanpur, while addressing the Golden Jubilee program organized at the Agricultural Science Center, Thariyanv, on Saturday.
He said that he has completed 50 years of working in agricultural technology dissemination among farmers. The first Krishi Vigyan Kendra in the country was established in Puducherry in 1974. Since then, centers were continuously opened in every district of every state.
Today 731 agricultural science centers have been opened in the country and 86 in Uttar Pradesh. Krishi Vigyan Kendra has completed 35 years of continuous service since 1989 and Krishi Vigyan Kendra has reached all the 13 development blocks of the district.
Earlier, Director of Extension Dr. R. Of. Yadav handed over the torch to Dr. Sadhna Bash, the officer in charge. In Fatehpur district, a program should be organized with the Golden Jubilee Torch to discuss the role and achievements of Krishi Vigyan Kendra among the farmers and share the views of the farmers.
Farmers expressed their views. Farmers said that in the 35 years of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, many changes have taken place in farming technology and animal husbandry. Many successful farming experiments have been done beneficial to the farmers.
