Kathmandu, July 13 (HS). After the Prachanda government lost the trust vote in the Parliament, the way for the formation of a new government has been cleared. Amidst the latest political upheaval, KP Sharma Oli reached the President's Office late at night and met President Ramchandra Paudel. During this, he staked claim to form the government. In a statement from the President's Office, a call has been made to form a new government within three days.
Oli met the President along with party president Sher Bahadur Deuba with a letter of support from the Nepali Congress. KP Sharma Oli has also received the support of several smaller parties besides the Nepali Congress. The majority is achieved with 89 MPs of the Nepali Congress and 78 MPs of the UML in the 275-member House of Representatives. Oli has the support of 14 MPs of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, 12 MPs of the JSP, 6 MPs of the Janmat, 4 MPs of the LJP and 4 MPs of the Unmukti Party.
