Korba: 'The hands that used to lift bricks now have chalk in them, the job will change the fate of the Pahari Korwas' | News India

Korba 12 September (HS). Pahadi Korba Sagar was a labourer till a few months ago. Due to lack of work, he used to go to a contractor in the village and carry bricks. He had to work very hard and got very less money. To take care of his parents and meet his expenses, Sagar had to do this work even when his hands and legs were in pain. Despite his desire, he was not able to do such a job, due to which he could get rid of the work of carrying bricks.

Arranging livelihood had become a big challenge for Pahari Korwa Sagar because it was not necessary that his hands would get work every day. Meanwhile, on the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, when the district administration started giving jobs to eligible unemployed youths of the special backward tribe category of the district, Pahari Korwa Sagar also submitted his application. After checking the documents of Pahari Korwa Sagar, he was selected. Pahari Korwa Sagar, who used to work as a labourer in poverty and living in difficult conditions, no brick is lifted from his hands now, rather these hardworking hands have got the support of chalk and books. Pahari Korwa Sagar is now giving the message of moving forward by educating the students of primary school.

Pahadi Korwa Sagar, posted in Chitapali village of Korba block, passed 12th with a lot of struggle. Meanwhile, due to lack of work, he started working as a laborer like his father. Coming out of the forest, first studying, then working as a laborer and bearing the expenses of the house, all this was the story of his struggle-filled life. Sagar told that most of his family members including his father are very poor and he had never thought that he would be able to study till 12th. Sagar told that after passing 12th in 2022, he had to do the work of lifting bricks and putting them in the tractor and carrying them and unloading them. Meanwhile, he had to work even after having pain in the body.

Sagar said that he cannot believe that he has become a teacher. On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the district administration has done a great favor to us Pahadi Korwas by giving them jobs. He said that after getting the job, there is an atmosphere of happiness in the family, relatives and society. Pahadi Korwa Sagar says that now his entire routine has changed. Along with teaching in school, he is also getting to learn a lot which will be useful in teaching his children in the future. He has to teach according to the time in the school. He is feeling very happy with this work. He says that even though he has got the job on honorarium basis from DMF, but this is the ladder of his happiness which will be able to prepare a new future for tomorrow and will also strengthen his financial condition.
