Korba, 06 May (Hindustan Reporter). To complete the voting process under the Lok Sabha elections on 7th May, today the polling team for all 1087 polling centers of the district reached the designated polling centers from IT College Korba and Mukutdhar Pandey Government College, Katghora with voting material. Under the direction of Collector and District Election Officer Ajit Vasant and in the presence of other returning officers, the polling team along with the sector officers including the presiding officer, polling officer number one, two and three left for the polling stations with the necessary materials for voting.
Polling personnel have reached all the polling stations in the district. A presiding officer, polling team officer-1, polling team officer-2 and polling team officer-3 and one police have been deployed in all the polling stations. Additional forces have been deployed in sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations. Apart from this, 118 sector officers and 75 micro observers are on duty. Polling personnel have been kept in reserve for emergency situations. More than eight thousand officers and employees in the district will play their role in completing the voting process. Voting will be held on May 07 from 07 am to 06 pm. Arrangements for shade, cool drinking water etc. have been made in the polling stations. Along with the distribution of material under the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, a different atmosphere of enthusiasm was seen among the male and female employees included in the polling team before reaching the polling station.
Sangwari polling centres, polling centers managed by the disabled, youth polling centres, model polling centers have been prepared in all the assembly constituencies. The special thing is that after voting in these booths, a selfie zone has also been prepared in the premises, where voters can take selfies. Similarly, Adarsh has become the center of attraction in the polling booth. Here, grand pandals based on Chhattisgarhi art-culture and rural environment have been decorated with colorful balloons and posters and rangolis related to voter awareness and women empowerment have also been decorated. Model polling centers have also been established by the Forest Department in Sonpuri and Chaitma.
Observer and Collector inspected
Observer Premsingh Meena, Collector and District Election Officer Ajit Vasant took stock of the distribution system of voting materials for election work at IT College and Government Mukutdhar Pandey College. He inspected all the centers assembly wise and also gave necessary instructions to the returning officers. The Collector asked the polling team personnel to reach the polling stations with caution and complete the election work seriously and return on time.
9 lakh 36 thousand 783 voters will vote in Korba district
Korba Lok Sabha seat has a total of eight assembly seats. Which includes four assembly seats of Korba district and seats of Marwahi, Korea and Bharatpur-Sonhat and Manendragarh. There are a total of 2023 polling stations and 16 lakh 18 thousand 864 voters in Korba Lok Sabha. In which there are eight lakh three thousand 520 male voters, eight lakh 15 thousand 292 female voters and 52 third gender voters. Under this Lok Sabha, only in Korba district, there are 2 lakh 24 thousand 860 voters in Rampur Assembly including 37 third gender voters, 2 lakh 62 thousand 242 voters in Korba Assembly, 2 lakh 16 thousand 972 voters in Katghora and 2 lakh 32 thousand 709 voters in Pali Tanakhar and a total of 9 voters. There are lakh 36 thousand 783 voters. A total of nine lakh 36 thousand 783 voters will exercise their franchise in this election in Korba district.
Model polling stations were created
Under Lok Sabha elections, 05 model polling centers have been created in all four assembly constituencies of the district. In Rampur Assembly Constituency 131-Kukricholi, 117-Kotmer, 165-Tilkeja, 235-Tunda, 258-Bandhapali 21 In Korba Assembly Constituency 11-Ayodhyapuri, 126-Korba, 147-Korba (Indira Chowk), 152-Korba (Kashinagar), 22-Jelgaon, 42-Katghora, 43-Katghora, 86-Mongra, 87-Mongra, 12-Deepka of Katghora assembly constituency and 129-Konkona, 183-Sutra, 104-Gursia, 284-Pali, 260- Kerajhariya has been made an ideal polling station.
