Korba, 24 August (HS). As per the instructions of the State Congress Committee, a one-day Dharna was organized today on Saturday under the aegis of Korba District Congress Committee. District Congress President Surendra Pratap Jaiswal said that the BJP government of the state, keeping political animosity, got the Congress officials arrested by registering FIRs under various sections without any reason, in protest against which a one-day Dharna was organized with Congressmen at TP Nagar Chowk Korba.
In her address, Korba MP Jyotsna Mahant, district in-charge of the organized program, said that Congress officials and workers are being harassed unnecessarily in the state. Who were the people who came from other states apart from Chhattisgarh. Why did the government not keep an eye on them? Why were the people allowed to go to the Collectorate?
Former District Congress President Harish Parsai said that ever since the BJP government has been established in the state, it has been selectively harassing Congress officials, elected public representatives, former Chief Ministers etc. Congressmen are being identified and put in jails, while we are not going to be afraid of this tyrannical character of the Congress Jan Sarkar.
