Kolkata doctor rape case: CBI takes saliva samples from accused Sanjay's teeth; cut marks found on doctor's body – News India Live | News India

New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials on Thursday collected dental impressions and saliva samples of Sanjay Roy, the prime accused in the Kolkata doctor rape and murder case.

A CBI official said that the team reached Presidency Jail on Wednesday night, where they questioned Sanjay Roy, accused of raping and murdering a woman doctor of RG Kar Hospital. He was questioned for five hours.

Meanwhile, the CBI team also took dental marks and saliva samples of accused Sanjay Roy. These samples have been sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) for testing. Let us tell you that the CBI had sought permission from the Kolkata Court to interrogate accused Sanjay in jail and take dental marks during judicial custody, which the court granted on Wednesday.

The agency quoted a CBI official as saying that several bite marks were found on the body of the female doctor. This was also confirmed in the postmortem report. A team of forensic experts also took saliva samples from the body of the female doctor.

Now Sanjay Roy's teeth marks and his saliva samples will be subjected to forensic tests to ascertain whether the teeth marks and saliva found on the body belong to Sanjay Roy or not.
