Sydney: Virat Kohli once again failed in the Sydney Test between India and Australia, he was out after scoring 17 runs in 69 balls. He could not hit even a single four in this innings. Not only this, in the last one year (from January 3, 2024 till now), he has been successful in scoring more than 50 runs only twice.
After scoring a century in the Perth Test, he has been continuously flopping. On the current Australia tour, Virat Kohli has batted in eight innings and has been out seven times. He has been caught out behind the wicket seven times. Virat has scored a total of 184 runs so far in eight innings of this series. He has been out seven times in these eight innings and all seven times he has been habitually caught trying to hit the off stump of the fast bowlers. Virat has faced Boland in six innings so far in Tests, in which he has scored 32 runs in 98 balls. Boland has taken the wicket of Virat four times, out of which four times he has been caught in the slips or by the wicketkeeper. In the last one year, Virat has been able to score more than fifty runs only twice. These include an inning of 70 runs against New Zealand at Chinnaswamy Stadium and an inning of 100 runs in Perth. Virat has scored 417 runs in 19 innings of 10 Test matches in 2024 at an average of 24.52, which includes one century and one half-century. Kohli played 69 balls in the Sydney Test but could not hit a single four. This is the longest innings without any boundary in Virat’s Test career.
