Bhopal, August 13 (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the whole world is rapidly changing into a knowledge-based economy. Petrol has been the pivot of the industrial revolution, but knowledge is the basis of the 21st century economy. Historically, the Indian knowledge tradition has been very rich. As a result of this, the invaders always targeted our centers of knowledge and tried to destroy them. Following its knowledge tradition, India is moving on the path of becoming a world leader under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Along with the spread of science education, research and innovation are also being given great importance in the country.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views on Tuesday at the inauguration of the 11th convocation of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal. He said that in the academic field, Madhya Pradesh has institutions of national importance like IIT, IIM, IISER, Triple IT, NIT and IIFM. The campus of the National Forensic Science University being established in Bhopal is of national importance. The presence of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Bhopal is a matter of pride for the state. The state government is making efforts at its own level in the field of higher education and skill development as well as encouraging private participation. The PM College of Excellence started in the state will definitely play an important role in the field of higher education.

Make maximum use of youth education and training in the interest of the country and society

The Chief Minister said that India has a unique confluence of talent, technology, management and leadership. Through centers like Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, the country is providing the best education to the youth. The degree obtained from these institutions is a great honor for the talents of the youth. This establishes their special identity in the society. It is the duty of the youth to make maximum use of the education and training received in the interest of the country and society. Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead step by step in accordance with the country's goal in the field of knowledge and science. 6 Global Skill Parks are being established to make the youth of the state industry ready. A new program has been started for popularization of science in collaboration with IIT Gandhinagar. A satellite town has also been established in Ujjain through IIT Indore. The country is continuously progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and it is believed that we will establish our place as a developed country in the world.

Our aim is to make the country self-reliant in the energy sector by the year 2047: Union Minister Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that our government is committed to providing more resources for research and development. The Government of India has approved the India Artificial Intelligence Mission and a budget provision of Rs 10,300 crore has also been made for this. There is also a plan to develop India as a hub of green hydrogen production. Our aim is to make the country self-reliant in the energy sector by the year 2047.

He said that India's Semi-Conductor Mission was launched in 2021. Three units have been established in this sector in India. Opening the space sector to the private sector is a big initiative. He said that the Central Government considers it its responsibility to encourage innovation, research and development.

The identity of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research should be established at international level

The Union Finance Minister congratulated and wished the students of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research for receiving medals and degrees at the convocation. He said that students from different states of the country are studying in this prestigious institute as a result of the culture and tendency of curiosity, research and learning in India. The institute has established its identity not only in the country but also at the international level in science education. It is necessary to ensure that the maximum benefit of the studies, research and investigation of the students is in the welfare of the people of the country.

Union Minister Sitharaman, while explaining the need to encourage research for the production and storage of renewable energy by reducing the use of fossil fuel, said that the Government of India is making special efforts in this direction. She said that instead of dividing science into different parts, it is necessary to look at it from the point of view of overall human welfare. Innovations will have to be done to establish India as a developed India by 2047. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also addressed the program.

Students were honored

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Finance Minister Sitharaman laid the foundation stone of the academic building and lecture hall at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research campus and participated in the academic procession of the institute. The 11th convocation of the institute began with Saraswati Vandana. Institute Director Prof. Govardhan Das welcomed and greeted the guests by presenting Ang Vastram and a memento. Institute Director Dr. Govardhan Das presented the report of the institute. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Sitharaman honored the students for the President Gold Medal, Director Gold Medal, Proficiency Medal and Best Thesis.

Bhopal MP Alok Sharma said that students should ensure to use their degrees to fulfill Prime Minister Modi's resolve of self-reliant India. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state is rapidly progressing in the field of science, education, development and public welfare.
