Many times the same company may provide 5G service in a city, but may provide 2G service in a smaller town. Telecom companies will now mandatorily provide information on certain standards related to service quality on their websites. At present, no such information is given publicly by the telecom companies.
These changes will be effective from October 1
From October 1, only messages with secure URLs and OTP links can be sent for communication. TRAI has also ordered to migrate all telemarketing calls starting from 140 series to the digital ledger platform by September 30 to facilitate their monitoring. So that monitoring becomes easier.
The new rules will prove important for telecom companies. Due to this rule the customer will be able to see what service is available in his area and which company has better service quality. Doing this will not only provide correct information to the customers, but will also give an opportunity to the telecom companies to improve their networks and be more sensitive towards the customers.
Instructions to improve online services
TRAI has asked all telecom companies to improve their online services. Under this directive, the Mobile Telephone Services Rules 2009, Wireless Data Quality Rules 2012 and Broadband Services Rules 2006 have been brought together. This new rule will come into effect from October 1.
