Under the initiative of The Forgotten Society, established in 2008, Firoz Merchant has been instrumental in freeing 900 prisoners from UAE prisons, including 495 in Ajman, 170 in Fujairah, 121 in Dubai and 69 in Dubai. Came to Dubai for honeymoon
Ghulam Hussain's entire family lived in Imamwada Colony of Bhindi Bazaar, Mumbai. Firoz Merchant says that when he was in second class, he had to leave school due to non-payment of tuition fees. I stood second in the first class examination. My teacher also gave me a certificate of merit. But unfortunately I had to leave school the very next year. Because my father had no money. I learned from him the art of survival in struggle. Firoz considers marriage as a turning point. In 1980, Firoz Merchant married Rozina from Mumbai. Firoz considers this an important turning point in his life. Firoz says, I came to Dubai for my honeymoon. During this time I also went to Goldsuq, the gold market of Dubai. I fell in love with this place. As I entered Goldsuk, it was decorated with glitter. Yellow metal. I was amazed at the shops and jewelery stores. I also wanted to start a jewelery business and live in Dubai. When my wife came to know about this, she became very angry. But I spent most of my honeymoon in Dubai so that I could understand how the jewelery business works. I was mesmerized by Goldsuk. I wanted to become a jeweler right away. I came home with this enthusiasm. But my dream was shattered when I told my father that I wanted to go to Dubai and become a jeweler, he completely rejected my idea.

However, after years of persuasion, Firoz Merchant's father finally agreed in 1989. And they allowed me to go to Dubai. Firoz Merchant says that he started this mission keeping in mind that UAE should give him an opportunity to reunite with his family. His effort is to free more than 3000 prisoners and send them to their families in the year 2024. This initiative of Firoz Merchant has also been approved by the Emirati rulers.
