Muhammad Yunus was born on 28 June 1940. He is a Bangladeshi economist, banker, social entrepreneur and civil society leader. In the year 2006, he founded the Rural Development Bank. He has been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009 and the Congressional Gold Medal in 2010.
