First of all you should visit the official website of UIDAI. https://uidai.gov.in/ will go on. After this click on My Aadhaar option.
Go to Aadhaar Services in My Aadhaar, you will see the option 'Lock/Unlock Biometrics'.
Then a new page will open. To login into it, you will have to enter 12 digit Aadhaar number and captcha code. Then OTP will come.
After entering this OTP you will see the option to lock/unlock the biometric data. You have to select the option you want to lock or unlock.

What happens to election card, PAN and passport?
Unlike Aadhaar card, there is no provision for cancellation of passport after one's death. After the expiry of the period, its validity automatically gets cancelled.
