Due to the scorching heat, litchis and watermelons are selling a lot in the market. But before bringing these fruits home, should you check whether they are edible or not? At this time there are a lot of litchis and watermelons available in the market, eating which can harm your health. If you eat these fake fruits for a long time, then you can become a victim of serious diseases. Let us tell you that before buying these fruits, you can know for just 2 rupees whether they are good or not.
Fake litchi and watermelon
Here fake does not mean that these fruits are made of plastic or rubber. Nor does it mean that they are prepared in a laboratory. The reason for calling these fruits fake is that they are grown in the wrong way and harmful colors are used to make them look beautiful and red.
Adulterers are putting red colour in watermelons using syringes to make them look red from inside. Also, sugar syrup is being used to make it sweet. Similarly, these people paint green litchis with red spray paint to make them look ripe. To sweeten litchis, small holes are made in them and they are dipped in sugar syrup and after some time they are taken out and sold.
How to check whether it is real or fake?
If any fruit has colour then you will get it for just 2 rupees. All you have to do is buy cotton for 2 or 5 rupees and then rub it on litchi. If it is coloured then the colour of the cotton will be red. Similarly, you have to cut the watermelon first and then rub it with cotton. By mixing colour in watermelon, the cotton will become red. On the other hand, if the colour is not mixed then the colour of the cotton will be very light pink.
