KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs in a thrilling match

Kolkata, March 23 (HS). In the third match of IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 runs. Andre Russell and Harshit Rana were the heroes of this victory of KKR. Russell played a brilliant unbeaten inning of 64 runs and took two wickets. Whereas fast bowler Harshit Rana took three important wickets and led the team to victory. Russell was named player of the match for his all-round performance.

In the match played at Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata on Saturday, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first. After losing the toss and opting to bat first, KKR scored 208 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs. For KKR, all-rounder Andre Russell played the highest innings of 64 unbeaten runs. T Natarajan took maximum three wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad. While chasing the target, Sunrisers Hyderabad team could score only 204 runs after losing seven wickets in 20 overs. In this way, Hyderabad had to lose the match by four runs in a close match. Explosive batsman Heinrich Klaasen played the highest innings of 63 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
